Ohio Mayflower Scholarships
1. The Ohio Society of Mayflower Descendants offers a yearly scholarship to Junior members or Adult members of the Mayflower Society entering their second year or higher of university for the state scholarship. 2012 Scholarship Information Deadline: 18 February 2012 1. A minimum of one $1,000 scholarship is available. 2. The applicant must be a member or Junior Member of the Ohio Society. There is no restriction on the residence of the applicant. 3. For the 2011 - 2012 school year, the applicant must be in the second year or later of a college/university pro-gram leading to a Bachelor's or advanced degree. 4. The original essay of 750 words or less must be written and signed by the applicant. The topic is “The Effect of Plimoth Colony’s Relations with England, 1620 – 1627”. Bibliography required. No Wikipedia citations.5. The committee will judge the essay on content, accuracy of facts, grammar, and neatness. Bibliography electronic sites must still be available at the time of judging. 6. Please use a size 12 or larger font. 7. Send only the originals of documents. Electronically transmitted documents will not be accepted. 8. A person may be awarded a scholarship a maximum of two times. 9. The scholarship need not be given if the committee decides there are no qualified applicants. 10. The winner will be notified by late March and invited to present the winning essay at the Annual Assembly held in mid-May. Expanded information about the winner may be printed in the next issue of the Buckeye Mayflower. 11. The award will be paid directly to the student by the Society Treasurer upon receiving proof that the student is enrolled for the next school year. 12. An application for the scholarship is on the back of this page. The blank application may be copied. 13. Mail the application by the postmark deadline of 18 February 2012.

2. The Toledo Colony of Ohio Society of Mayflower Descendants offers a yearly scholarship, the Katharyn L. (Huss) Wunderley Memorial Scholarship to Junior members or Adult members of the Mayflower Society entering their second year or higher of university for the state scholarship.
